New York Club Unites Archers and Jesus With Help From Lancaster Archery Foundation

The Lancaster Archery Foundation has awarded a grant to a New York, Christian-based organization seeking to draw more kids to its archery program.

The 12th Rock Archery program of Middletown, N.Y., was awarded $1,000 by the foundation to help pay for new 3-D targets and some arrows.

“The funds will enhance the excellent experience each archer has when they come,” 12th Rock Archery organizers wrote on their grant application.

“In turn, they will recruit their friends and they will keep coming back. We have several families that keep coming back season after season.”

The 12th Rock organization is committed to changing “the atmosphere of youth sports by providing positive life-lifting experiences that honor Jesus Christ,” the group’s website states.

Archery is one of several sports programs offered by 12th Rock, which has hosted 3-D shoots in the past, which have proven to be extremely popular.

Helping a faith-based organization that promotes archery is a natural fit for the Lancaster Archery Foundation.

“Faith is one of the four core values of the foundation – caring, integrity, perseverance and faith – so we fully recognize and support the connection between faith and archery,” said Rob Kaufhold, president of Lancaster Archery Foundation’s board of directors.

Based in Lancaster, Pa., the Lancaster Archery Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expand, develop and promote 3D and target archery to help people improve their confidence, discipline and leadership skills through participation in competitive archery.
