Lancaster Archery Foundation Helps Texas Archery Academy Grow Indoor League
Lancaster Archery Foundation awarded a grant to Texas Archery Academy to assist with its growing indoor target league.
Texas Archery Academy runs out of the Texas Archery Club in Plano, Texas, which is one of the largest archery clubs in the entire state.
Part of Texas Archery Academy’s mission is to develop new competition target archers. To that end, the academy each month hosts the Texas Archery Indoor League, which features indoor rounds shot according to USA Archery/World Archery rules. It regularly draws young archers of all abilities, from beginners to accomplished competitors.
“The events provide consistent tournament experience – an application of a participant’s practice and a talent funnel,” the academy stated on its grant application.
Additionally, the league shoots “build recognition of the indoor shooting format considered the sport of archery by World Archery/USA Archery,” the academy said.
Texas Archery Academy was awarded $1,000 by Lancaster Archery Foundation, which will be used to help pay for World Archery indoor target faces used during the league shoots.
“We are proud to be able to help a group like Texas Archery Academy promote target archery as a sport,” said Rob Kaufhold, president of the Lancaster Archery Foundation. “Providing the opportunity for people to compete in archery creates the opportunity for target archery to grow.”
Based in Lancaster, Pa., the Lancaster Archery Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expand, develop and promote 3D and target archery to help people improve their confidence, discipline and leadership skills through participation in competitive archery.
