Lancaster Archery Foundation Helps Tennessee Archery Program Get Off the Ground

The Lancaster Archery Foundation has awarded a grant to an elementary archery program in Tennessee that was just formed and is looking to take off.

Plainview Elementary Archery Club in Christiana, Tenn., was awarded a $1,000 grant from the foundation to help the fledgling club buy equipment.

The club was formed during the 2021-22 school year, after the new Plainview Elementary School was built.

The school was populated with students transferred from three other, local schools, which all had strong archery clubs.

Plainview wants to bring archery to its facility, since many of its new students enjoyed it at their former schools.

“Our community has a great interest in the archery sport,” club officials wrote on their grant application.

“We had an interest meeting and have received many students interested in signing up…Being able to have more equipment will allow us to have a larger number of archers to participate.”

Rob Kaufhold, president of Lancaster Archery Foundation, noted that one of the primary goals of the foundation is to help new clubs get off the ground.

“Any time a new club is formed, they are reaching an audience that might not have another option for learning about archery,” he said. “The more clubs there are, the more opportunity there is for a wider audience to get involved in archery.”

Based in Lancaster, Pa., the Lancaster Archery Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expand, develop and promote 3D and target archery to help people improve their confidence, discipline and leadership skills through participation in competitive archery.
