Lancaster Archery Foundation Helps Kentucky Club Reach New Archers

Lancaster Archery Foundation has awarded a grant to a long-time Kentucky program that’s looking to add USA Archery events to its offerings.

AimTakers Archery in London, Ky., has been active for years with S3DA events and training. And now the club wants to get equipment to make USA Archery and Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) programs available to young archers as well.

Lancaster Archery Foundation awarded AimTakers $1,000 to help pay for equipment that will enable the club to expand its archery programs.

“We are venturing into USA Archery and JOAD events next season, and are attempting to acquire needed equipment and training,” The club wrote in its application to the foundation.

“We are a quickly growing team and we don’t want to turn anyone away from the sport due to not having enough equipment.”

Since JOAD and USA Archery are primary pathways to the U.S. Olympic archery team, the Lancaster Archery Foundation eagerly agreed to provide a grant to AimTakers.

“You never know where the next Olympic team member is going to come from,” said Rob Kaufhold, the foundation’s president.

“Getting as many clubs as possible all over the country involved in JOAD is key to finding and developing the best future Olympians.”
