Lancaster Archery Foundation Helps Michigan Club Get into Outdoor Target Archery
A Michigan club is receiving assistance from Lancaster Archery Foundation to expand the club’s programs to include outdoor target archery.
Central Michigan Sportsman’s Club, which is home base to the Central Michigan Goldstars S3DA team, of Stanton, Mich., received $1,000 from the foundation to help offset the cost of outdoor target archery range equipment.
The club already has established programs for indoor target and 3-D archery, but does not offer outdoor target archery to its members.
“We have many shooters who are interested in outdoor target, but we don’t have any of those targets available,” club officials wrote on their grant application.
“By receiving funding, we could make our archery program a more well-rounded program, which in turn makes our archers more well-rounded shooters.”
Providing multiple forms of target archery is a great way for a club to attract and hold more archers, according to Rob Kaufhold, president of Lancaster Archery Foundation.
“The more options you can offer your membership, the more opportunities they have to find something they like,” he said.
“We applaud Central Michigan for being willing to promote outdoor target archery for those archers who might prefer that game.”
Based in Lancaster, Pa., the Lancaster Archery Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expand, develop and promote 3D and target archery to help people improve their confidence, discipline and leadership skills through participation in competitive archery.
