Lancaster Archery Foundation Helps Kentucky Secure More Targets
The Lancaster Archery Foundation is pitching in to help a Kentucky youth archery club build its stable of targets in hopes of getting more kids on the shooting line.
Owensboro Archery Club received $1,000 from the foundation to purchase all the target faces it expects to need in 2022, plus two new 3-D targets to add to its existing arsenal.
The Owensboro club offers primarily Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) programs, including hosting local and regional tournaments. It has more than doubled its membership since it was founded in 2018, and expects that growth to continue.
“OAC promotes the sport of archery to our members by teaching responsibility, proper form and techniques an fostering and encouraging environment in which our archers are able to excel,” Adam Logsdon said.
“We would like to have two full 20-target ranges (3D) to give our members more opportunity to practice as well as the ability to host additional tournaments within our community.”
Rob Kaufhold, president of Lancaster Archery Foundation, said the foundation understands the pressures clubs such as Owensboro face in securing enough equipment to keep current members active and to draw new archers to the sport.
“Kentucky is in the heart of 3-D country and we are thankful for the opportunity to help Owensboro Archery Club do their part to get even more people interested in 3-D archery,” Kaufhold said.
Based in Lancaster, Pa., the Lancaster Archery Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expand, develop and promote 3D and target archery to help people improve their confidence, discipline and leadership skills through participation in competitive archery.
